09-17-2006 7:37 PM -- By: William Sillyman,  From: Houston, MO

I have known Grant, pretty much his whole life, and I've been a family friend for more years than that. I remember Grant as a child and as a young man, before my family and I moved away from Missouri, but stayed in touch with the family all these years. I knew a young man that was full of life and full of mischief, but a boy that enjoyed every minute of his life. Whether or not that he knew it, he taught me what HIV/AIDS wasn't. To me, he was just a normal little boy growing up and becoming a young man. I remember his hugs and that he was apart of my family besides just friends. Grant, you are missed, but your spirit will forever live. We are given very special missions on this earth, no matter how hard they may be. Others have spoken on HIV/AIDS, but none in the manner you have. Grant, you touched people's spirits, on a deadly disease. But in a way that those that heard you, listened. That's why you came to earth at this time, and this was your mission.

The Sillyman Family will always love you Grant. We will never forget you and you will always hold a special place in our hearts from now till eternity. God Bless you, Child of God.

Bill, Vie & Mical Sillyman and Sara (Sillyman), Ronald (JR)and Micah Jay Maddox

All our love.

Linda, This is such a wonderful tribute to Grant. Grant will forever live in the hearts of so many people that had an opportunity to know him. Grant's time may have been cut short on earth but this is only a temporary place. One day we will meet up again. Linda, you and your family are very special. You have been through alot... I know that even when we don't understand the why's of this world .. There is a reason for the things that happen in life. Sometimes it is in the most darkest of times, that draw us nearer to the Lord. Please know you and your family are in my prayers for peace, confort and that Grant lives on and will be with us always.

Grant had a very easy spirit about him. He would always smile even though he might have a number of things on his mind. Thank you Grant for teaching so many to keep on smiling through it all.

You did a beautiful job with the memorial page for Grant. I loved looking at the picures of the tree and the 4th of July. I do believe you definitely captured Grant smiling down appreciating the fireworks display. You have an incredible son and he must smile down often with pride for his awesome mother.

Shine On Grant!
